New Brooklyn Machine Works Launch Pads in Stock

More photos to follow.

"The Launchpad" is our new "trick specific/700cmx/fixed freestyle" frame. The first frames are nearing completion and should be trickling out to paint in the next week. All of the first batch is spoken for but some will be available in shops that have preordered them.
Our friends in LA, Orange 20 are first on the list to have some in stock. The bros at WBASE ,Chari & Co., Brooklyn Bicycles, and Tokyo Fixed Gear are all on the list to have frames soon too. If you can't get your hands on one from this first run, we will be taking orders for the next, hopefully to be completed in the very near future.

"The Launchpad" is going to be offered in long and short top-tube versions with the option of either a Mid or Euro bottom bracket shell with a 45x45 integrated headtube. Color options are black, red, and clear. The long version has a taller standover and slightly steeper HT angle than the short. Overall, the geometry of this frame isn't a much of a departure from the "Gangsta". This thing is more stout than it's older brother and has ample tire clearance. We're pretty stoked on it and the addition of our "Clusterfork" is going to make for a kickass frameset that sells for $850MSRP and is handmade here in Brooklyn.

Funny representing in Nagoya + his Bike check

I just saw these photos on the Fanta Pista blog of funny winning a tricks contest in Nagoya. Nice. He also re spec'd his bike & its looking super hardcore. I'm loving his use of the Volume Krull Spider allowing him to run a super tough Sugino 75 ring with BMX cranks. We've had these cranks in for months & they sell terribly, check out Funny's set up to see how its done.

Tokyo Handbuilt Bicycle Show 2009

The rockstar Mr Nagasawa signing autographs.
This is one of the nicest pursuit builds I've ever seen! The fillet brazing, black stays, track cranks (what are these cranks?? Panto campag?? ) ,custom bars. Perfect.

I really wish I was in Tokyo for this one. It looked like a crazy affair! Putting lots of Japanese frame builders together in Check Spellingthe same room to display their wears will always bring out their eccentricities as you can see from the photos. I'm seeing power cranks, hand made 8 spoke wheels on wooden rims, air brushed disc wheels & much more madness I can't even describe.

It was also nice to see an old friend of ours, Watanabe displaying. In the photos he's wearing the same beanie I saw him In two years ago, actually every time I ever met him. He's a man that takes a lot of pride in his work & its to see some of his more showy bikes on display. I will try dig up some of my own snaps.

Thanks to fixy life for the snaps.

Check Jerome for some more.

Mechanix Gloves In Store

Oury Grips Instock

Brooks TEAM PRO Alpe d'Huez

Alpe d'Huez is one of the main climbs and has been a stage finish in the Tour de France almost every year since 1976. The first was in 1952, won by Fausto Coppi, at a time when most cyclists were riding Brooks Saddles.
The pattern of the Alpe d’Huez impressed on this saddle has been designed by Dan Funderburgh, a wallpaper designer and artist in Brooklyn, NY. His patterns, prints and installations are varied in content but all demonstrate an unabashed love for decorative arts.
With influences ranging from Moorish mosaic to American op art, the work is a repudiation of the fabricated schism between art and decoration. Some of Dan’s work can be found in the collections of the Cooper-Hewitt Design Museum and the Miami Museum of Modern Art. Dan loves bicycles and has created wallpaper patterns with bicycle parts.

Lightweight Tune & USE parts in stock

Tune, the masters of CNC machined parts from the heart of the black forest. They do a wide range of components catering for single speed, road & MTB. The alloy hubs receive rave reviews, as does everything else they make! Currently we are stocking the alloy seat posts & 25.4 stems.

Tune's stem is amazingly stiff and light, CNC machined from 7075 T6 grain orientated heat-treated Aluminium, with custom-made 'Load Specific' hardware.
It has a tapered design (inside and outside), for ideal load distribution, and a removable front plate for easy bar / stem change.
Machined apertures at the steerer clamp section save weight without affecting strength

Like Tune USE produce nothing but quality engineered products . Even better this company is British allowing us to buy direct keeping costs down. USE make a varietry of bars, shims, seatposts & a few other clever little accesories. The sister company Exposure Lights make the brightest lights available. The bars & stems are all as strong as it gets, extremely light & have a single hex secure clamp system.

Terry Dolan Classic

A few months back I got talking with Terry about the NJS frames we import. He told me that he had actually sent his frames to Japan for UK riders to race in the Keirin circuit. Regarding the NJS certification he said he simply had to follow a builders manual sent over from Japan. I asked Terry of he would consider building us some frame. The frame above is a custom build he recently completed.

Anyway Terry is now building us some steel track & road frames. We will have some in store & also be taking custom orders. Prices TBC.

Sexy Panasonic build

Dom had to wait a while for the rims to come in, but it was definitely worth it. The Dura Aces on Araya Clinchers are perfect. With such a nice paint job we though it would be a shame to build it up with parts that would compliment the paint & draw attention. Its an all Japanese affair without the NJS drops.
Dura Ace hubs & cranks, Starfuckers saddle, Kimori brake clamp, Araya RC-540 rims...
