Cherubim frames are made by the great Shin-ichi Konno. Shinichi is from a family of frame builders with his father building
Cherubims for over thirty and his uncle starting the famous 3 Rensho brand. Now Cherubim is continuing the family
tradition pushing the envelope for steel frames using custom built hardware such as specially bent tubes and incredibly
light custom tubing from Japanese manufacturer Kasei.
He has been honered with the Best Track Bike award and Presidents Choice at the North American Hand Built Cycle Show in 2009 & 2010. In 2011 we took a Cherubim Piuma to the handmade bicycle show Bespoked Bristol where it took the Best Road Bike award.
The Piuma frame like all Cherubims is made from custom butted & custom drawn Kasei. The selection of different tubing diameters and oversize chain stays makes a frame which is of course comfortable but also will feel fast and responsive. The Piuma can be built with a carbon fork but comes standard with a steel fork with the Cherubim signature crown.
The construction is a beautiful mix of lugs and clean fillet brazing. The finish like all Cherubim frames is out of this world with stunning details and classic water transferred graphics.
- This particular frame is 1.8kg, 2.5kg including the fork. Piuma's can be built as light as 1.3kg frame only if requested
