The Peloton, a five-year labour of love by Berlin-based photographer Timm Kölln, is now available and it's been well worth the wait.

Kölln travelled the length and breadth of Europe attending every major race on the calendar to photograph the entire professional peloton and capture their images just moments after crossing the line. The results, as previewed in Rouleur issue 4, are the most hauntingly insightful portraits ever seen in the cycling world.

From kings of the road Mark Cavendish and Fabian Cancellara to the humblest of domestiques, Kölln has focussed on the emotions - both good and bad - experienced in this most gruelling of professions on a daily basis.

Interviews accompany each portrait, every rider giving their very own take on life in the saddle, and the trials and tribulations of a sport in turmoil.

Following the success of Michael Barry’s Le Métier, published earlier this year, The Peloton is the latest major production from Rouleur, and shares the same superb production values. Comprising 188 pages of images and words, it is printed in tri-tone and on exclusive paper, and bound in hardback. A limited Special Edition, including a signed baryta print and protective slipcase, is now available for £200.

The Peloton was published on November 19 and costs £50
